Growing up I fondly remember the great joy and excitement that came around sharing meals together. From a very early age, I earned my wooden spoon as I tinkered around the kitchen creating my version of dishes, learned recipes from my gran, and those before her.
Thando means Love, that being said it is my love and passion for my heritage and good food that has brought me to this point. My meals are greatly inspired by the beautiful cultural diversity found in Southern Africa, as well as the warmth and Ubuntu that Africans exude.
I firmly believe one can not sum up the magic of Africa, rather that you attend one of my workshops to get a feel of the warm vibe, flavor, and joy that you would typically find in an African home around the dinner table.
I look forward to seeing you at my table.
